The College of the Atlantic is a unique university in that it only offers one program: human ecology. The college describes there program as “…an educational philosophy that applies knowledge from multiple disciplines to address environmental and social problems.”
Students design their own majors based on their individual interests within this one uniting theme.
The College of the Atlantic has also been a pioneer in campus sustainability by being the first campus to pledge total carbon neutrality. It is this commitment to environmentally sound practices that makes it one of the leading environmental colleges in the nation.
